CARS.COM — Caught between the high-volume half-ton pickup truck class and the stump-pulling giants of the one-ton trucks, stout three-quarter-ton pickups — often seen as work trucks — don't get much love. Yet they are quite strong, offer plenty of standard and optional features, and can stretch into luxury truck pricing. With all the changes happening in the pickup realm, the editors at Cars.com and PickupTrucks.com decided to put top-of-the-line, heavy-duty turbo-diesel pickups through a grueling battery of tests in our 2017 3/4-Ton Premium Truck Challenge.

Now live on PickupTrucks.com, this Challenge has four contestants: the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, 2017 Ford Super Duty F-250, 2017 Ram 2500 and the newcomer to the class, the 2017 Nissan Titan XD. In truth, the Nissan falls in between the half-ton and three-quarter ton classes, but it still gave each of the long-timers some strong competition. Visit PickupTrucks.com to find out which pickup won.
