The problem: In affected vehicles, the engine and transmission control module software may cause an irregular engine speed at idle that could lead to an unintentional engine shutdown just before a vehicle stop, such as while coasting toward a stoplight.

  • 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class
  • 2016 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

Corrective action: Dealers will update the engine and transmission control module software, which will eliminate the condition.
