AutoAfterWorld.COM — Vehicles affected by service bulletin:

  • 2013 Lexus GS 350
  • 2013 Lexus GS 450h

The problem: Due to its current collision-detection thresholds, the occupant classification system in the front passenger seat may interpret certain occupant seating usages or road conditions as a rear collision. This will illuminate the "Airbag Warning" and "Airbag Off" indicators and disable the front passenger airbag.

Corrective action: Dealers will replace the front passenger lower seat frame assembly. Additionally, depending on vehicle production date, dealers may also replace the occupant classification system's electronic control unit.

Warranty info: This repair is being done free of charge under this limited service campaign. The campaign expires Dec. 31, 2017.

What owners should do: Call your local dealer with your vehicle's identification number to determine if it's involved in this service campaign. You can also call Lexus at 800-255-3987 or NHTSA at 888-327-4236. Reference TSB No. SC-FLA.
