The problem: Excessive corrosion buildup on the pivot point of some rods is causing decreased performance and a lit "check engine" light in some Jettas. Problems occur when the pivot point becomes seized as a result of the corrosion.

Corrective action: Dealers will install a charge pressure actuator repair kit and lubricate the affected rod joint with hot screw paste.
Warranty info: Repairs will be covered under the new vehicle warranty or, if eligible, the powertrain or extended warranty. Repair approvals will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
