The problem: In affected vehicles with a 5.7-liter V-8, the engine control module may trigger a trouble code in the performance computer if debris or ice becomes lodged in the air-switching valve. If this occurs, the check-engine light could illuminate and the vehicle could enter fail-safe mode, reducing the vehicle's power and speed and requiring immediate repair.

Corrective action: Dealers will verify the engine control module calibration and, if necessary, update the software at no charge to vehicle owners.

Warranty info: This limited service campaign will be available to owners free of charge until Feb. 28, 2016.

What owners should do: Call your local dealer with your vehicle's identification number to determine if it's eligible for repairs under this service campaign. You can call Toyota directly at 800-331-4331 or NHTSA at 888-327-4236. Reference TSB No. SC-F0A.
