The problem: A faulty radiator anti-tamper device may cause loss of communication to the engine control module. If this happens, the check engine light will come on and warning chimes may ring.

Corrective action: Dealers will replace the radiator anti-tamper device, update the engine control module software and delete any diagnostic trouble codes.

Warranty info: This service bulletin is being performed free of charge under the Volvo new-car, extended or federal emissions warranty, whichever applies.
