Surprise! The Buick Avista Isn't as Dead as You've Heard

Reports of the Buick Avista’s demise might have been premature.

Recently, Buick vice-president Tony DiSalle said that the Avista “was purely a concept and meant to generate some buzz,” and that there were no plans to produce it. One of our enthusiast forums, , caught up with Buick PR manager Stuart Fowle, who confirmed the Avista’s fate hasn’t been decided yet. That doesn’t necessarily mean the concept will be produced, but it also means that it’s not entirely dead in the water just yet.

The Buick Avista concept is on display at the 2016 New York Auto Show, finished in red, meaning it’s a different vehicle than the one that debuted at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. The company built two prototypes to campaign around the world, and the blue version is currently in China.

Considering the efforts it is making to gauge interest around the world, don’t count the Avista out just yet.
