Pricing for the 2017 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid has been announced.
In the U.S., the 2017 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid starts from $35,435 including destination, with the sedan boasting a class-leading estimated 27 miles (43 kilometers) of all-electric range. For many consumers, they will be able to complete their daily commute without having to use any gas at all, while also getting an estimated 590 miles (950 km) of travel in between fill ups.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain features a 9.8-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery pack that is more than fives times larger than the Sonata Hybrid’s battery. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is paired to an electric motor for a total system output of 202 horsepower.

The sedan delivers an estimated 99 MPGe combined when operating in EV mode, and in hybrid mode it returns an estimated 39 mpg combined. With a 240-volt Level Two charger, the 2017 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid can be charged in less than three hours, while a standard 120-volt outlet will take less than nine hours.
For the 2017 model year, the Korean automaker is offering an all-new exterior color palette for the Sonata Plug-in Hybrid, which includes Hyper White, Nocturne Black, Metropolis Gray and Skyline Blue. On the inside, color choices include cloth or leather in gray or a Blue Pearl option for leather seats. Those that opt for the Blue Pearl leather seats will also have contrast stitching and trim accent pieces.
The 2017 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Limited is priced from $39,435 and can be had with the Blue Pearl leather for no additional cost.
Canadian pricing for the 2017 Hyundai Sonata Plug-in Hybrid has not yet been announced.
